Submerged Sundays

... being a dedicated Tatort fan, I was looking for an alternative on Sunday nights. Luckily Goldfish spend their holidays working with a their regular Submerged Sundays when it's winter in Ibiza. Last Sunday 20:15h I was looking at the crime scene in Camps Bay with an eerie moon and howling young clubbers.Apart from some eye candy amongst the audience, Goldfish set standards with their set, lighting and sound system around their disco gold fishy. Love their way of DJing with some analogue tunes from their instruments... read more

PASS pirates

I was supposed to see this young and fresh jazz combo next week (Thursday, 30 Sept) at the St. Georges Cathedral. Two sister who were seen on stage together for the first time at the Fugard. I...read more

the Who

In case you want to know who's sneaking through your streets captureing total strangers, trying to skip cues while you've been waiting for hour's in the rain already, and behaving strangely on stage in order to become invisible, l will tell you something about what drives me... even crazy sometimes. An apology for my humble command of English. I'm German to the bone really, was never good with languages, and trying to express what I probably would suck at even in my mother tongue, is probably a Schlepp to read. I just happen to got stuck in South Africa. Never...read more

Bree Street

Bree Street is not where one would usually say: itīs all happening here! But there are a number of nicely picked gigs at a view intimate venues there. I believe a lot of Heritage Square is around there too... For me - looking through lenses all the time - I look at venues in a different way, considering a good lighting as second most important. Bright on the stage or the corner where the performer should be found and dim at the less important spots. But equally important is the crowd present to celebrate the performing artist. Not necessarily for...read more
